In April, ODF leaders presented at the Preparedness Summit in Dallas, Texas. The presentation, titled Operation Dragon Fire (ODF) in New York City: Improving Situational Awareness and Data Sharing provided an update on ODF work over the last year, including a partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
The presentation began with an overview of ODF, and then described two use cases: New York City, conducted in March 2016, and San Mateo, California, conducted in early April 2014. Then, ODF leaders described the CDC Use Case and presented next steps for the project. The session concluded with a short question and answer period. During this time, attendees suggested things to include in the final product. These included incorporating geolocation tags for people in the field, integrating with FEMA situational awareness tools and applications, and for the entire product to be freely available for download.
